October land markets stay buoyant for time of year

A range of farm types have been launched across the UK this autumn. Traditional farms and smallholdings account for a large portion of the market, while supply remains tighter for large grassland and arable units.

Demand from buyers persists as businesses look to invest, and there is also an increasing number of environmental buyers active in the market.

This strong interest is supporting land prices, with multiple bidders on many properties.

Some agents have also reported an increase in sales of land to private buyers, with land often being sold before being put on the open market.

Traditionally, supply declines during the winter months before a new wave of properties enter the market in the spring.
