Milk Link cheeses scoop more trophies

Milk Link carried off five trophies and 36 individual awards at the Nantwich International Cheese Show this week.
From a record 3,700 entries from 26 countries, the 100% farmer-owned business, which is also the UK’s largest cheese maker, took 17 gold awards. Its Taw Valley Creamery in Devon collected nine gold, four silver and two bronze awards as well as being named Champion UK Creamery.
The co-op’s Tuxford & Tebbutt Creamery, based in Leicestershire, took three golds, three silvers and two bronzes. Champion Farmhouse White Cheshire Cheese and the Farmhouse Cheesemakers Trophy went to Reece’s Creamery from Cheshire.
Lockerbie Creamery, based in Dumfriesshire, won gold for its Single Mild Cheddar Cheese, while Cornish Country Larder took gold with Duchy Trevarrian Brie, which it makes for Waitrose.
The international cheese awards follow success at the Royal Welsh Show, where Milk Link businesses took 17 awards.
