New owner for Scottish dairy firm

Independent Scottish dairy company Graham’s, the family dairy, has bought Claymore Dairies of Nairn for an undisclosed sum.

The deal marks Graham’s’ 25th acquisition and takes the company past £50m turnover. It is also the second change of owner for Claymore this year after Arla Foods and North Milk Co-op sold the dairy to a management buyout team in February.

Graham’s managing director Robert Graham said the Claymore dairy and its employees would become an immediate part of the Graham’s business.

“This will be Graham’s most northerly location and will give us not only more capacity but additional flexibility to our customer offering.”

Ian Larg, managing director of Claymore Dairies, added: “Graham’s diversity and greater market position will be a major benefit to Claymore going forward. This will lead to greater security for the dairy, its staff and supplying dairy farmers.”
