NFU strikes gold at Chelsea

THE NATIONAL Farmers Union has won their eighth coveted Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) gold medal in succession, at the 2004 Chelsea Flower Show.

This year‘s winning display, co-sponsored with Sainsbury‘s, showcased the ‘Best of British‘ fruit, flowers, vegetables and plants from all over the UK.

It was designed by the award-winning Penny Riley, of UK Horticulture.

Speaking from the Chelsea Flower Show, NFU president Tim Bennett said: “It is fantastic to see such a carefully sculpted exhibit made wholly from British produce.

“The vibrant colours make a wonderful display, and the top quality produce is a great endorsement for UK farmers and growers.”
