North offers choice of holdings

The launch of several farms and blocks of land in the North offers buyers a wide choice.
Largest of these is the Blackhall Wood Estate near Carlisle in Cumbria. With five dwellings and just over 113ha (280 acres), it has been lotted into nine by selling agent Smiths Gore.
Three of the houses are Grade II* listed, with the main house having been lotted with a courtyard of traditional buildings and 16 acres. There is also a pair of semi-detached farm cottages.
The land is grade 3 Clifton soil series, a reddish fine and coarse loamy soil, mostly suitable for cereals and grass or maize fodder. Almost 46 acres of mixed woodlands offer shooting, conservation and amenity potential and the estate has fishing rights on the River Caldew.
A good range of farm buildings includes mainly modern housing, general purpose steel portal frame buildings, slurry store and former parlour.
The guide price for the Blackhall Wood Estate is £2.8m, with about 90 units of normal Single Payment Scheme entitlements being available to the buyer at market value. (Smiths Gore 01228 546400)
