SFP entitlement transfer deadline moved to 23 April

Junior DEFRA minister Lord Bach has confirmed that the entitlement transfer deadline will be shifted back by three weeks from 2 April to 23 April.

The minister made the announcement during a debate in the House of Lords on Thursday (30 Mar).

The government was currently arranging for the necessary changes in domestic and EU legislation, he said.

“I hope that it will be considered an important step.”

George Paton of broker Webb Paton said the extension was needed.

“People were only just starting to realise what they needed to do,” he said.

“We were just finding that we couldn’t cope with the volume of work we had during the past seven days.”
