Software to support new initiative

A NEW COMPUTER software based advisory service will help farmers meet environmental targets and secure single farm and entry level payments, developers claim.
The service is being launched by Farmacy and will allow the firm‘s agronomists to develop step-by-step action plans to help farmers, achieve the points required by the new schemes, the company said.
The service will also identify features that are likely to be appropriate for higher level scheme applications, said the firm‘s managing director, Mike Young.
“Our clients will be facing huge challenges in the future and Farmacy is determined to help them take advantage of all the possibly opportunities, whilst minimising the administrative burden.”
The software will be updated as new information comes available from DEFRA, the firm said.
