Scottish farmer co-op shares distribution with consultant

Consultant Agrovista and co-operative East of Scotland Farmers have joined forces to share agrochemical distribution.
The two companies will share East of Scotland Farmers’ major distribution site at Coupar Angus, but retain independent delivery services.
Robin Barron, East of Scotland Farmers general manager, said the joint approach to distribution would give access to a larger range of products, as well as reducing costs.
The collaboration follows Agrovista’s formation of a fruit agronomy and consultancy business with a Perthshire agronomist.
“The agreement allows both companies to share overheads and storage costs,” John Lockett, Agrovista logistics director, said.
“The central belt of Scotland is an important area for us, with business growing we needed to expand distribution to service this market.”
