Two residential farms in Dorset

Two residential farms are also being launched in Dorset by Symonds & Sampson. Locketts Farm at Droop, Blandford Forum, is being sold for the William Williams charity and comes on to the open market for the first time in 200 years.

Retiring tenants Robert and Sally Alner established their very successful National Hunt racing yard at Locketts Farm in 1993. The farm includes about 84.4ha (208 acres) acres of pasture with copses and two gallops.

There is a modern four-bedroom farmhouse, a large range of traditional barns with potential for conversion and a pair of semi-detached brick cottages. Guide price for the whole is £4.475m.

The same firm is selling Little Haydon Farm at Fifehead Neville near Sturminster Newton. This private Blackmore Vale farm has very good views, a modern five-bedroom farmhouse, a one-bedroom flat, a two-bedroom flat, stables and farm buildings.

The 48.6ha (120 acres) of pastureland with copses is a former dairy farm now running suckler cattle and sheep. It is available as a whole or in three lots with a guide price of £1.7m. (Symonds & Sampson 01258 473 766)
