Wyke Farms announces milk price increase

Dairy farmers supplying milk to Wyke Farms are set to receive an extra 1.5p/litre from July 1.

Wyke Farms said the increase for their 150 suppliers was in response to rising global demand forcing up the UK milk price.

David Young, Wyke Farms’ direct supply manager, said the processor was determined to develop its brand to continue to strengthen its milk price.

“This means we are able to pay a sustainable price to all milk suppliers.”

Mr Young said the processor’s increases since March reflected an improvement of 2.20p/litre so far this year and current market conditions indicated further improvement over the coming months was very likely.
