Wynnstay posts record 13% profit increase
Agriculture and specialist retail business Wynnstay recorded a 13% increase in pre-tax profits for the year to October 2012.
This is a record year for the group, which reported profits of £7.82m and a 9% increase in revenues to £375.78m.
The agricultural division saw an 8% increase in revenues, helped by a full-year contribution from grain marketing business GrainLink, said Wynnstay. This was also helped by a strong demand for feed.
The company acquired a number of small agricultural businesses during the year and established FertLink, a fertiliser joint venture, said chief executive Ken Greetham.
“Wynnstay continues to perform well and pre-tax profits and revenues for the year stand at record levels,” he said.
“This pleasing achievement is underpinned by the broad spread of our agricultural activities and reflects both the organic and acquisitive development of the business.
“Wynnstay has for some time been an active participant in agricultural consolidation. As part of our growth plan, we will continue to acquire businesses that fit our model while also developing Wynnstay organically.”
