Agritechnica: Omega takes Bednar into seeders market
Farmers in the market for a disc drill have yet another new name to add to their shopping list – Bednar.
The Czech cultivator specialist has been building cultivators under its own name for a few years now. But at Agritechnica 2013 it showed off its first foray into the world of seeders.
The Omega trailed drill uses two rows of scalloped discs to churn up a seed-bed.
A row of fertiliser placement discs sits behind these and then there’s a full-width packer to consolidate the soil.
At the rear, Bednar has fitted its own double-disc coulter units with integral following harrows. On top, there’s a 4,000-litre split tank that feeds into Bednar’s own pneumatic metering system.
The Omega is available in 3m, 4m and 6m and there’s an 8m one on the way, too. The 6m one costs €91,500.
