Cereal 2014: Slovenian one-pass drill works UK soil

This Slovenian-built one-pass drill made its first appearance at Cereals 2013 and has been busy earning its stripes on a UK farm ever since.
Called the UST, it’s made by a small engineering firm called AZ Farming which is based in Kobarid near the Italian border.
The main selling points are the patented feet with curved wings. These are designed to lift the soil ahead of the seed without any inversion that could disturb weed seeds.

Company owner Stefano Bortolussi is now offering the feet as a retro-fit option for other drills of this type.
The UST is available in 3m, 4.5m and 6m working widths. The 4.5m folding version with seed and fertiliser hopper costs £40,000.
AZ farming is also on the hunt for UK dealers.
