Deutz-Fahr had several new machines on show at Sima 2013, but its latest high-spec, four-cylinder tractor was hogging most of the limelight.

The pint-sized 5-series range replaces the old Agrotron K and includes three models – the 100hp 5100, the 110hp 5110 and the 120hp 5120.

All are powered by the maker’s own 3.6-litre engine that keeps emissions at bay without using AdBlue or diesel particulate filters.

Base-spec models are fitted with a simple mechanical box that has two main ranges with five speeds in each. But those that want a few more cogs to play with can opt for a three-stage powershift. There’s also a CVT option for the bigger models.

Other premium touches include an electronic declutch button on the main gear lever and optional automatic shifting of the powershift steps. They’ve also got a hydraulic forward/ reverse shuttle with a handy wheel for adjusting the severity of direction changes.

Deutz has also treated the 5-series to a new 6-post cab.  This has side-opening windows and a generous glass roof hatch that means you get a good view of the loader when it’s at full height.  It’s got a pretty comfy passenger seat, too.

Prices start at £62,767 for the base-spec 5110 and £69,035 for the 5120.

The maker was also showing off its new 6-Series TTV that gets a CVT transmission for the first time. This also inherits the smarter cab from its bigger brother, the 7-Series.
