Horsch is the Maestro of seed and fertiliser

Horsch’s most up-to-date precision seeder is the Maestro. Seed-and-fertiliser set-ups are getting more popular across Europe, so these drills should appeal to plenty of large-scale farmers drilling maize, sunflowers and sugar beet.

Working widths extend from 6m to a whopping 18m, 24-row version. The big one also carries a 7,000-litre fert tank on its back and will cost you £155,000.

The more modestly sized 12,50CC drill on the Horsch stand still gets a 2,800-litre fertiliser tank and a 75-litre seed hopper on each seeder unit. Coulter pressure is an impressive 300kg and the drill should be able to work accurately at speeds of up to 15kph.

The 12-row, 6m Maestro is expected to be the most popular size in the UK. It costs a slightly more palatable £80,230 and requires 100hp on the front.
