Top poultry speakers for Livestock 2012

Noble Foods farms director Tom Willings and specialist poultry vet Mike Clark will be two of the speakers on specialist poultry subjects, as the Livestock 2012 event extends to cover the monogastric sector.

Held at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, on 4 and 5 September, organiser the RABDF has decided to put on a show that covers all farmed animals.

“In 2011, some 7% of our visitors managed poultry enterprises,” said a spokeswoman. “Almost 40% of exhibitors at Livestock 2012 (formerly the Dairy Event and Livestock Show) will offer products of interest to poultry producers, including feed, animal health and livestock equipment.”

The event will be divided into 13 product zones and there will be an extensive seminar programme. Mr Willings will present “An overview of the egg industry”, while Mr Clark will discuss “Poultry and other livestock – do they mix?”

Poultry farmers who are in the Red Tractor Assurance Scheme can also visit their stand and order a free Red Tractor farm sign.

* Tickets cost £17 in advance and can be booked on the event website www.livestockevent.co.uk
