10 fancy dress ideas for the YFC Annual Convention 2015
The YFC Annual Convention 2015 is fast approaching (24-26 April 2015) and we are getting very excited about it.
The fancy dress theme for the Saturday night this year is ‘Through the Decades’. We’ve got some suggestions for the nineties and noughties to get your creative juices flowing, but send us your ideas for the other decades and we’ll gather them together.
Email suggestions to fwfarmlife@rbi.co.uk, or share them with us on Facebook or Twitter.
Nineties (1990s)
Baywatch
Well, we will be at the seaside. Who needs Malibu beach when you can hone your Baywatch run on the sands of Torquay?
Whether you’re more of a Hasselhoff, or a Pamela Anderson, there are lots of great outfits out there to suit all.
The Teletubbies
Children born in the 80s and 90s will recognise these colourful characters. You’ve just got to negotiate for your preferred colour.
The Spice Girls
This will undoubtedly work best as a group effort. You need your Sporty, Baby, Scary, Posh and then a willing volunteer to wear a Union Jack dress as Ginger Spice.
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
There are three key components to this look: sideways cap, hideously patterned sweatshirt or jacket, and baggy jeans or dungarees.
The Simpsons
Big fan of face paint? Then this one is for you. Don’t think they’ll let Bart in with a skateboard, or Homer in with his own can of beer, so maybe leave those out.
Noughties (2000s)
Little Britain
This TV shows holds so many beautiful opportunities for fancy dress. Think Vicky Pollard, Bubbles DeVere (ok, maybe not the best for fancy dress), Lou and Andy, and Daffyd.
Ali G
You’ve really got to perfect the voice as much as the outfit for this one.
118 118
One of the most famous duos from the 2000s and quite an easy outfit.
You basically just need some skimpy blue shorts, a white vest and, of course, a killer moustache.
Shrek & Princess Fiona
We had to throw in a face paint opportunity for the noughties, too, so Shrek is the obvious choice – the loveable ogre from the 2001 movie.
Or his beautiful princess in the emerald frock. This one is perfect if you know someone handy with a sewing machine.
Mr Blobby
It’ll be warm in the Torquay arena, but it’s a real show stopper.
