5 days to go until Ag Careers Live 2017

Farmers Weekly’s Ag Careers Live is back to help you find your perfect career in agriculture.

At Farmers Weekly we believe agriculture is the best sector to work in, bar none. We are on a mission to show the world what exciting and rewarding career opportunities there are in food and farming.

Our goal is to attract the brightest and the best talent, from inside and outside the industry, and help those people get the support they need to reach their full potential.

That’s why we’ve organised our successful careers event – Ag Careers Live – again this year, a national event that showcases the wide range of dynamic and fulfilling roles in the sector – on- and off-farm

It takes place on Thursday 2 November, it’s a free and there is still time to get tickets.

Career development

The event also aims to give you the knowledge and confidence you need to take your career forward.

If you are just starting out, there will be career advisers on hand from some of the very best land-based colleges and universities who you can quiz on the options if you aren’t sure about what you want to study.

You’ll also be able to find out about the whole range of qualifications available, including apprenticeships, undergraduate, postgraduate and even PhD courses.

However, a trip to Ag Careers Live will be of great value to people of all ages because career planning and development isn’t, and shouldn’t be, just a preoccupation for the young.

Pick the experts’ brains

The event is a great opportunity for more experienced agriculturalists to talk to recruitment consultants and employers about how best to move up the career ladder.

You can meet our experts in an informal setting to pick their brains about the best way to fast-track your career. Alternatively, why not sit down with an adviser who can help you polish your CV so it stands out from the crowd.

You might even discover you have a skill set that is in strong demand by employers which you had never considered.

The agriculture industry is facing a period of change, bringing with it challenges and uncertainties. This will also bring opportunities – for people with the right skills, drive and determination.

If you want to learn more about where you best fit into the changing world of food and farming, join us at the Telford International Centre in Telford, Shropshire, on 2 November.

We look forward to seeing you there.
