Cost and responsibility sharing roadshow

Livestock farmers have the chance to hear the case for adjustments to the government’s Animal Disease Management Policy and to make their views known about the changes and their implications at a series of June roadshows ahead of an open meeting at the Royal Show in July.
The Government is proposing
major changes in the way it manages and compensates for outbreaks of animal disease. To help promote a wide-ranging debate on this vital topic, Farmers Weekly in conjunction with RASE, and in association with four leading land-based colleges, is running a series of “Cost and Responsibility Sharing” roadshow around the coutnry.
This is a vital opportunity for readers to have their say on a topic that will affect the viability and profitability of livestock farming for decades to come.
Gavin Ross, Defra lead in the Cost and Responsibility Sharing Policy team will speak to the meetings along with a leading independent veterinary expert.
This special programme of meetings will culminate in an Open Meeting at the Royal Show at Stoneleigh on Thursday, 3rd July when Lord Rooker, Minister responsible for the policy, will hear reports from each of the regional meetings and give his response.
