East Anglian trio of farms with potential

In a market starved of commercial arable farms, the launch of Shrublands Farm at Burgh St Peter in Norfolk will stir plenty of interest.

As well as the farmhouse, which has planning permission for a further two substantial reception rooms, there is development potential for two dwellings in the range of traditional buildings, said agent Anthony Holliday of Brown & Co.

Shrublands’ owners are selling the 394-acre farm to buy another property in the county. The Grade 3 arable land has an irrigation licence and good roads but no grain storage. Mr Holliday has set a guide price of ÂŁ3.39m for the whole, although the farm is also available in lots.

Brown & Co is also selling two Suffolk County Council farms jointly with Bruton Knowles. The 125-acre High House Farm, Claydon, and 44-acre Uplands Farm, Rattlesden, are guided at ÂŁ1.1m and ÂŁ615,000 respectively. (Brown & Co 01284 725715; Bruton Knowles 0845 200 6489)
