Farmlife Framed: Matches, hatches and farming youngsters
Welcome to Farmers Weekly’s photo series – Farmlife Framed. We’re incredibly lucky to be sent loads of photos by our enthusiastic readers, who are always keen to share snapshots of their farming lives with us.
From the scenic and the serious to the fun and the funny, your pictures are a great insight into agriculture and rural living across the UK – and further afield – and we can’t get enough of them.

Make tracks to the church!
Harriet Hayward sent in these photos from 9 September this year – the day she got married to her husband Paul in Oxfordshire.

Harriet was driven to the church in a New Holland T7 by her father, Graham Gregory, and her brother George. As high heels, a long, white dress and tractor cab steps aren’t likely to get on too well, she was helped down by her brother, Billy Gregory.

Decent proposal
Alex Ross asked his girlfriend Jess Simpson to marry him while on the farm near Durham. They plan to tie the knot on 2 June next year.
“I told her we were going to feed the cows. I had the bale in the stack ready painted, so she jumped out to open the gate and when she turned round I was on one knee next to the bale,” says Alex.
New arrival’s first Farmers Weekly
Huge congratulations to farmers David and Lindsey Jessop on the birth of their new little boy. Here’s Archer Rowan Jessop having a read through his first Farmers Weekly. He was born in Chesterfield on the 13 September 2017.
“Poor planning at harvest!” says dad. “He’s having a read through the magazine of choice and was in time to see the last of the harvest coming off between the showers on the family farm, Huggester Farm.”
Quality father and son time
Vicky Watts sent in this lovely shot of father and son spending quality time together reading their favourite magazine.
“My husband has his copy of Farmers Weekly delivered every week, but now he has to fight our two-year-old son for it,” says Vicky.
“Alfie is definitely a Farmers Weekly fan and I have to thank you all for developing his language and vocabulary so effectively – it beats any children’s book!
“He knows many types of agricultural equipment and their makes. Here he is actually letting daddy get a look in.”
Jump for joy
Sophie Huntley caught this image at Frome Show on 9 September. It shows her cousin, Toby Moore, jumping for joy with a great result at the last show of the season.
Mucking in
Six-year-old Eddie Rowlands and his two-year-old sister Molly taking a well earned break after helping their dad with jobs on their dairy farm in Anglesey, north Wales. Good work guys!

Keep your farming photos coming in, we really can’t get enough of them. It’s really easy to submit yours – simply email fwfarmlife@rbi.co.uk or send them to us via direct message on the Farmers Weekly Facebook page.
Be sure to send your photos in as high resolution as possible – the higher the better for print quality. They can be cute, funny, romantic – pretty much anything goes (within reason).
Not only is there a chance that they will appear in the magazine and on our website in our regular Farmlife Framed feature, there’s a chance they could be shared on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages and go viral.
