Farmlife Framed: Farm dog favourites and autumn field work

Welcome to Farmers Weekly’s photo series – Farmlife Framed. We’re incredibly lucky to be sent a shedload of photographs by our fantastic readers, keen to share a snapshot of their lives.

The long, hot summer has finally made way for autumn, prompting farmers to crack on with land preparation and winter crop drilling.

We’ve also got some final harvest snapshots to share along with some adorable farm dog photos.

A great shot of “farm manager” Nala the border terrier inspecting Jake Bridgeman’s fieldwork at Perry Green Farms, Somerset. Chris and Claire Hill sent this one in.

Having wrapped up their harvest at home in The Cotswolds in the second week of August, Olee Morris was surprised to see baling in progress while on holiday in the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh in late September.

A great snap taken at Frome Young Farmers Ploughing Association 60th annual match at Dean, near Cranmore in Somerset. From left we have Ashley Craddock next to his father, Ian, holding Scrumpy Jack the dog. The duo are posing with 90-year-old Bob Hargrave, who owns the classic behind them.

Gaynor from West Marden Farm in Sussex sent in this photo of her little boy looking up to his future in farming.

Scott Boardman sent us this lovely photo of his brother’s dog Dory with a shiny new Class combine lurking in the distance.

It’s always nice to have a mate for the evening checks around the farm. Hannah Lewis and Alistair Trivett shared this photo of a very happy farm dog Phoenix in Warwickshire.
