Photo of the Week: Case IH and driver – farming ambassadors
This week’s photo of a moody and magnificent Case IH Puma 240 was taken by Dan Clayton, while out power harrowing ready for planting.
Dan regularly documents his days by taking photos, and he captured this magic moment as the sun was beginning to go down.
He says he takes photos to “show what we achieve as farmers, hoping to educate and catch the eye of fellow farmers and, more importantly, non-farmers”.

Dan works on the family arable farm and contracting business, RH Clayton & Sons, which was set up by his grandad and grandma, Rob and Val Clayton.
They farm 450 acres as well as contracting, with crop spraying being one of the main services they provide throughout Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire.
Dan has driven Case tractors for as long as he can remember and the farm has had a Case 956XL, a 5150 and eventually a Maxxum, which was the first Dan drove. They then moved on to the Puma range.
Dan clearly loves the Puma. He says he feels lucky to sit on the tractor, which is a joy to drive.
He keeps the machine well-maintained and cleaned regularly inside and out and says “a dash of polish to keep that great Case shine.”
Dan says: “I find if you keep your equipment tidy and looked after, it sets a great mood for operating and a great representation of who we are as a company.
“At this moment in time, I wouldn’t want to drive anything else.
“This Puma 240 is a second home. The cab has seen good days, bad days and days where everything has gone wrong.
“Yet the view from inside the cab always keeps your spirits high.
“I’m lucky enough to operate this fantastic machine in some beautiful scenery most days.”
Wow! What fantastic enthusiasm for the job and a respect for the kit. Dan Clayton, you are a fantastic ambassador for farming.
