Photo of the Week: Feeding ewes on a frosty morning

We think this photo from Janet Carson perfectly depicts the winter months.

The picture, taken on Little Whisker Farm, shows her Dutch Spotted sheep feeding in a chilly -1C. We can almost hear the crunch of frozen grass beneath our boots.

Janet and her husband Andy keep about 100 ewes on their farm near Ardstraw, County Tyrone.

They have three different pedigree breeds – Blue Texels, Badgerface Texels and Dutch Spotted – as well as commercial ewes.
