Photo of the Week: Sheep wear poppies with pride
Fay Johnson of Rectory Farm, near Market Harborough, shows off one of her 11-strong flock with poppies painted on their coats to commemorate this year’s Remembrance Day.

Fay and her family are tenant farmers who have been farming the land for three generations. As well as running a flock of breeding sheep, they grow wheat for Weetabix, barley and beans.
They also have a successful diversification selling home-blended bird food that includes seed grown on the farm.
This goes hand in hand with their ethos of conservation farming. Fay’s father, Phil Johnson, is passionate about birds and wildlife and works closely with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).
