Photo of the Week: Yarrow the bull chillin’ in the sunshine

This week’s photo was submitted by Darren Becskehazy, head of cows at Herring Farm in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

It shows Yarrow, a Lincoln Red bull – one of the 80-strong pedigree beef herd at the farm – just chilling in the sunshine.

Lincoln Reds were specifically chosen by the farm as they are indigenous to the land, and also for their hardiness and great meat quality.

They are a very calm breed, as you can see by how relaxed Yarrow is, lying amongst the herd.

The farm practises sustainable, nature-led farming, with a focus on low-inputs and all-year-round rotational grazing.
