Great British Farm-Fest heads to Newbury for 2027

The Great British Farm-Fest is moving to Newbury Showground in 2027 following its inaugural event at Stoneleigh Park, which attracted more than 52,000 visitors over three days.

The festival will return on 29-31 May in 2027, organisers have confirmed, promising another celebration of British farming, food, countryside culture and live music.

The festival combined traditional agricultural attractions including livestock, machinery displays and farming demonstrations with food producers, celebrity appearances and a major entertainment programme.

Farming celebs

Visitors had the opportunity to meet some of farming’s best-known personalities, including Adam Henson.

Stars of Clarkson’s Farm such as Jeremy Clarkson, Lisa Hogan, Kaleb Cooper, Charlie Ireland and Harriet Cowan attracted some of the biggest crowds of the weekend.

The music programme featured a diverse line-up of artists and personalities, including Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Groove Armada, 10cc, Chris Moyles, Sara Cox, Noasis and The Shires, helping the event appeal to a wide audience beyond the farming community.

Mr Clarkson’s involvement gave the new festival a profile well beyond that of a traditional agricultural show, with his Diddly Squat Farm Shop and Hawkstone brands also represented at the event.

However, the inaugural festival was not without controversy. Despite the strong attendance, some exhibitors and traders reported disappointing sales and claimed visitor spending fell short of expectations, with a “handful” leaving before the event ended.

Organisers defended the festival and highlighted the scale of attendance and positive visitor response.

New setting

Farm-Fest will now find a new home in Berkshire, where Newbury Showground is a long-established venue for agricultural, countryside and outdoor events.

It is a setting with strong links to the rural sector while potentially opening up the festival to new audiences in the south of England.

“We are excited to bring the ultimate celebration of British farming, delicious food and incredible live music to Newbury,” said a statement.

“Our team is already hard at work cooking up an unforgettable experience for visitors, exhibitors and partners, and we have so many details to share in the coming weeks.”
