Walking in aid of Jamie’s Farm, a charity that uses farming and outdoor activities to help young people facing social, emotional and educational challenges, Kieran, 22, walked between farm sites over 18 days, averaging 20 miles a day.

His challenge started at Hill House Farm near Bath and concluded at the Skipton site in North Yorkshire, to which he walked via Monmouth and Hereford, following countryside tracks, river valleys and working farmland.
The walk, in aid of the charity’s Challenge for Change appeal has so far raised £65,327 and aims to reach £140,000.
Donations made between 6 and 24 June are being doubled through match funding by some of the charity’s other supporters and donors, meaning the charity needs to secure £70,000 in public donations to hit its target.
Kieran has been in care since he was seven years old; he said the charity has transformed his life.
“I decided to do this walk because I love Jamie’s Farm. I have been working here for three years and it has changed my life. I am so happy and proud to have reached the finish line,” he said.
During the challenge, Kieran was joined by staff members, including co-founder Jamie Feilden, and met young people who have taken part in the charity’s residential programmes.

His foster mother, Beccie, said he had flourished during his time at the farm.
“Throughout his life, Kieran has had to overcome so many huge challenges. However, at Jamie’s Farm he has found his tribe and can be true to himself.”
Founded in 2009, Jamie’s Farm operates seven sites where young people take part in practical farm work, including livestock care, preparing meals from farm produce and helping with day-to-day tasks.
The charity recently marked a milestone of supporting 20,000 young people.
Chief executive Jamie Feilden added: “We are so proud of Kieran for completing this epic challenge.
“We have been blown away by the determination, resilience and positivity he has displayed over the past few weeks.”
