Matt Baker to judge FW Wellywood competition

Farmers Weekly can unveil the celebrity judge of its Welcome to Wellywood competition – it’s TV star Matt Baker.
Farmer’s son Matt, who presents Countryfile and is president of the National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs, will help Farmers Weekly pick the winner in this competition, that invites readers to film a short movie clip spoof – but give it a farming twist!
Young Farmers, college students, work mates and a host of other rural people are already planning to film their short mooo-vie clip in a bid to secure the first prize of ÂŁ400 (plus ÂŁ200 of cinema vouchers).
We’re not looking for BBC production standard clips (60 seconds shot on a phone or a camera is fine), but we are looking for clips that make us smile and give a well-known film a farmy feel.
We’ll be taking into account how widely viewed the clip has been when coming to our decision, so make sure you share your clip with all your family and friends once you’ve loaded it into Youtube.
The Farmers Weekly judges will whittle the entries down to a shortlist which Matt – a popular champion of farmers and a presenter at the 2011 Farmers Weekly Awards – will then watch.
Just to get you into the mood, here’s a clip that a couple of the Farmers Weekly team (as you’ll see, they’re not anticipating any Oscars!) filmed.
