Open Farm Sunday seeks young artists for sticker design

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Open Farm Sunday, young artists are being encouraged to get creative in a national sticker competition.

The contest has been launched by Linking Environment And Farming (Leaf) and invites children and young people under the age of 18 to create a sticker design inspired by the theme “farming with nature”.

Winning entries will be produced as official stickers and displayed at hundreds of events across the UK when farms open their gates to the public on 7 June.

For two decades, Open Farm Sunday has provided opportunities for people of all ages to learn more about how farmers produce food while working alongside the natural environment.

Participants are encouraged to interpret the theme creatively, depicting elements such as:

  • Earthworms that help maintain healthy soils
  • Insect pollinators
  • Grazing livestock that contribute natural fertiliser
  • Hedgerows, woodlands and wildflower meadows that support biodiversity.

Leaf Open Farm Sunday manager Annabel Shackleton said: “Each year, Open Farm Sunday welcomes more than 200,000 visitors and gives families a unique opportunity to discover how their food is produced and learn more about sustainable farming.

“In this special anniversary year, young designers have the chance to see their artwork become part of this nationwide celebration.”

Entries must use the official downloadable template and can be created using crayons, paints, pens or collage.

Designs must remain flat so they can be reproduced as printed stickers.

The competition is open to UK residents aged under 18 on 7 June 2026, with one entry permitted per person.

Early April deadline

Submissions must be received by 6 April 2026, either by email to openfarmsunday@leaf.eco or by post to: Leaf, Avenue J, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire CV8 2LG.

A judging panel appointed by Leaf will select up to eight winners.

Successful entrants will be notified by 20 April and publicly announced on or before 26 April.

Designs will be printed and displayed at events nationwide, and winners will receive a personalised notebook featuring their artwork.
