Presley loving life as a UK sheep farmer

Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie Presley has a new career – as a sheep farmer.

The 44-year-old singer recently invested in a flock of sheep and she is enjoying taking care of them, according to reports.

Mrs Presley lives on a 36ha estate in West Sussex with her guitarist husband Michael Lockwood and their three-year-old daughters, Harper and Finley.

A source told the Sun newspaper: “Lisa Marie has thrown herself into the outdoor life. Over the past six weeks Lisa’s had sheep delivered. She’s keen for her kids to have a decent grounding and know what it means to work the land.”

Mrs Presley, who releases a new album next month, previously told of her love of living in the British countryside, as the people are much friendlier than in California, where she used to live.

She said: “In California the people are so self-absorbed. I lived in the same neighbourhood for 17 years and I don’t think I met a neighbour. When I moved here I was getting notes and flowers and people reaching out to me and I just thought it was incredible.

“There’s a quality of life over here that I needed and I just found it very refreshing.

“Some of the press snoop around the area, but the locals are pretty protective of me, which I really found charming, as I’d never experienced that before.”

Farmers Weekly staff have come up with some Presley-related puns connected to this story – some more terrible than others. These include Blue Suede Ewes, The Wonder of Ewe, Farmhouse Rock, Are Ewe Lonesome Tonight, It’s Sow or Never and You Ain’t Nothing But a Sheepdog.
