Strikes start to hurt French farmers
The French farm union FNSEA has warned ongoing strikes in France over pension reforms are hurting the farming industry.
The union has said that blockades at oil refineries are causing acute supply problems to agriculture.
It says there is a lack of diesel which is causing problems for arable farmers trying to complete their fieldwork.
The lack of fuel is also creating difficulties in getting animal feed out to farms.
In a statement, the union said the government needed to recognise the importance of agriculture when it came to prioritising fuel supplies.
