‘The course content was fantastic, it covered every base of agriculture’

Hartpury College (University of the West of England)

I completed a BSC Hons degree in Agriculture and Land Management at Hartpury from 2002-2005.

The course content was fantastic, it covered every base of agriculture in great detail and there was a good mixture of theory with the occasional visit to the college farm or an external location to see the theory in action.

There weren’t too many students on the course, but this allowed the lecturers to really get to know us, so they knew our strengths and weaknesses which helped greatly over the three years as they were able to offer better 1-1 support and advice than if we had just been 1 of 200 students.

In fact, we all had such a great relationship with the lecturers we all keep in touch even now and a number of us go back to Hartpury to speak to the current students regarding our current careers.

While Hartpury has over the last few years diversified into sports academies and large equine facilities, it is still seems to believe in its agricultural roots offering fantastic new facilities and courses to suit a wide range of agricultural needs. Given my time again I would definitely go back to Hartpury.
