Why Clarkson’s Farm star has launched Only Farmers app

Diversified farmers looking to find more customers have a new ally in the online fight for attention: Clarkson’s Farm star Lisa Hogan.

She and her son, Wolfe Bentinck, have launched Only Farmers, an app for farms to connect directly with consumers in their area and publicise their experiences, events, stays and activities.

The Diddly Squat Farm Shop proprietor said the idea for the risque-sounding app, named to mimic the OnlyFans app made famous by adult content creators, was borne out of in-store conversations with farmers.

“Every week I’d meet farmers creating incredible experiences on their farms, from vineyard tours and lambing days to farm stays and workshops, yet hardly anyone knew they existed,” said Lisa.

“The demand is there. The farms are there. The connection wasn’t. That’s why we built Only Farmers.”

The app also enables farmers to buy, sell and rent equipment, find suppliers and trade directly in a farmer-only marketplace.

You can hear Lisa and Wolfe reveal more about the app in this clip (opens in YouTube) from a special bonus edition of the Farmers Weekly podcast, recorded at the Cereals event.

The full episode will be available from Wednesday evening.
