Future of Farming photo competition – Terms and conditions

These are the terms and conditions covering Farmers Weekly‘s use of photos, including pictures submitted for Farmers Weekly’s “Future of Farming photo competition 2019”, by Farmers Weekly and its affiliated businesses.  FARMERS10 is the code which will give a 10% discount. This is against standard and all access tickets. It doesn’t apply to schools groups or Friday lates.

  • Every picture submitted to Farmers Weekly of farming and technology-related scenes will be automatically entered into our “Future of Farming photo competition”
  • In this context, “submitted” is deemed to included means images uploaded to the Harvest 2019 gallery at fwi.co.uk/future-farming-comp. 
  • The pictures judged to be the five winners will each win a family ticket to attend the New Scientist Live event where Farmers Weekly is hosting a “Future of Farming” zone.
  • A family ticket allows entry to either two adults and two children (aged 6-17) or one adult and three children (aged 6-17).
  • The person who took the winning pictures will be given a credit in an article inside that issue of the magazine, on the website and on social media.
  • Farmers Weekly and its affiliated companies and businesses reserve the right to use any of the submitted pictures more than once in the magazine, on the website, or in any other medium or format – both in connection with the competition and in any other context.
  • By submitting a photograph or video to Farmers Weekly, you are confirming that you own the copyright to that media and that there will be no fees attached to the use of the media as outlined above.
  • People submitting photographs to Farmers Weekly retain the right to use those photographs again themselves for personal and/or commercial purposes.
  • The competition is open to amateur photographers. You are not excluded from entering if you have previously won photography competitions, had your photography published, or even earned money from the sale of photos. However, full-time professional photographers are precluded from entering.
  • You can submit pictures that have been entered for other photography competition or competition, as long as doing so doesn’t contravene the terms and conditions of the other competition or competitions.
  • There is no limit on the number of pictures you can submit.
  • The decision of the judges as to the selection of the winning images is final, and no correspondence will be entered into about this.
  • The closing date of the competition is 27 September 2019.
