Big W Sussex estate comes to market
JULY IS set to be a busy month for Knight Frank in West Sussex, with a dairy farm sale and a large estate due to be launched soon.
Agent Claire Duthie said the estate’s details were being kept tightly under wraps, but the property was likely to be the biggest to be sold in the county for some time.
However, this week, in conjunction with local firm Barrington & Company, the firm is launching Rumbolds Farm at Plaistow, near Haslemere.
The 244-acre property, which includes a Grade II 17th century Sussex farmhouse, is being sold by organic Channel Islands dairy farmer Andrew Gibbs who is going out of milk, said Miss Duthie. She has set a guide of £2.75m.
Mr Gibbs said, after 20 years of milk production, he had become disillusioned with low prices and was moving to the West Country. But it wasn’t an easy decision, he added. “It took us over a year to decide. The farm has been in the family since 1899.”
