4600gns top for Charolais at Holsworthy

Sale leader at Wednesday’s sale of Charolais at Holsworthy was the day’s champion, Loviston Emperor with a TI of +20 and an SRI of +19. He is a 16 month old Penhole Samaritan son out of a Moynton bred dam. Bred and exhibited by Brian Nancekivell and Son, Merton, Okehampton, Emperor sold to A W Gale, Newton Abbott for 4600gns.Holsworthy11LovistonEmperor.jpgNext at 4400gns was the 20 month old Downtown Express from Brian Lavis, Bridestow, Okehampton. Sired by Westcarse Beefy, he was out of a homebred dam going back to Waverlea lines. The buyer was J Brown, Minehead.

A bid of 4200gns was made for the reserve champion, Bailea Eminen with a TI of +18, and an SRI of +26, another 20 month old this time from father and son team, Brian and Matthew Jones, Heol Senni, Brecon. Sired by Bailea Ulysee and out of a homebred dam going back to Gower lines, he sold to K C and J C Heard, Okehampton. The two year old Bailea Electra, another Ulysee son from the same breeder made 3500gns to J M and R Cleave, Bude.

Beanhill Entertainer with a TI of +25 and an SRI of +36, from R J and B E Kimber, Christian Malford, Chippenham, attracted the day’s second 3500gns call from J Pugsley, Dulverton. Sired by Inverlochy Resolve, this 17 month old was out of a homebred dam going back to Burradon Talisman.

Two lots from Andrew White, Worth Matravers, were in the money. First to go at 3250gns was Balbithan Felix, a 13 month old by 12,000gns Newhouse Benson and out of a homebred dam by Bassett Pirate. The buyer was D R Stacey, St Austell. Minutes earlier, Balbithan Pirate with a TI of +25 and an SRI of +31 made 2750gns to A and JM Henbrow, Lostwithiel. This 15 month old was by a Newhouse Camelot son and out of a homebred dam by Inverlochy Topsire.

The White’s led the female trade with Balbithan Ecquador, a two year old by Newhouse Benson making 2000gns to R K Tucker, Milton Abbott, Taverstock.

The same buyer went to 1500gns for Trenestrall Eversley TI from Will Palmer, Ruan Highlanes, Truro. A two year old Edenhurst Regal daughter, she was out of a homebred dam by the 30,000gns Silver Joss. Mr Palmer also sold Trenestrall Early for 1500gns, another two year old this time by the 24,000gns Mowbraypark Torpedo and out of a Regal sired dam. She sold to Messrs Highgrove Farms, Gillingham, Dorset.
