Angus champions set trade alight at Stirling
The champions from the pre-sale show yesterday have just come to the ring, with the overall champion, Blelack Lord Hildago first to go. This son of Peter Pershore out of Blelack Lady Heather comes with a TSI of +37 and an SRI of +44 and trade took off in the mid teens with bids quickly accelerating through to a final hammer fall of 25,000gns to Messrs Bruce for their Logie herd.
Reserve overall Tonley Alonso from Neil Wattie was next up, this is by Mosston Muir Edgar and out of Tonley Annie, a Nothern Samurai daughter. Bidding on this was equally as brisk with a number of breeders keen to get in on the action, the price finally settled at 10,000gns.
Then was senior champion, Blelack Evor, a Peter Pershore son out of Blelack Evora, a Blackstock daughter. He was in demand too with a flurry of bids heading past 15,000gns in a matter of seconds and finally being knocked down at 18,000gns to Mr Dobson, The Wall,, Shropshire.
Reserve senior, Wedderlie Tidy Baron came next, this is by Rossiter Eric and out of Tui Tidy Bee, a Big Dry Ranchers Choice daughter and netted a price of 13,000gns to Schivas Estate.
Reserve intermediate, Cheeklaw Erick from David Lucas sold next being a Tweedside Jewgal son out of Erika of Cheeklaw, a Lord Horatio P11 of Blelack daughter. With a TSI of +23 and an SRI of +32 he sold at 7500gns.
And the final of the champion run, the reserve junior champion Galawater Bentley from Jim Logan sold at to Gordon Brooke, Yorkshire at 28,000gns. That might have scotched the runours of the record being smashed for the Elliot bull later….!
He is by Rawburn Elysium and out of Galawater Bonita, an Eyrton X20 of Blelack daughter and has a TSI of +39 and an SRI of +49.
