Bazadaise and Blonde cattle in strong demand at Newark

Blonde cow and calf outfits were well sought after at Newark on Saturday (18 April), selling to a top call of 3,500gns for the 2011-born cow Tillbridge Gigi from Gainsborough-based J Ingle.

This first calver sold with an October-born heifer calf at foot and was bought by TB Moorhouse. She is by Coryton Umpire and out of Tillbridge Duchess, a Bradbury Evan daughter.

Next best at 3,200gns was Tillbridge Fawn, another from the same home and this time by Sauveur out of Tillbridge Venus, a Druk Lance daughter. She sold with her Druk Lance sired heifer calf at foot and found a new home with H Dawson and Son.

At the same money was Tillbridge Gwenn, again from J Ingle. This one is a September 2011-born first calver by Blackwater Ainsley and out of Tillbridge Chloe, a Whitefield Leader daughter. She sold to G and J Billings with a Ffronfedw Arawn sired heifer calf at foot.

Then, making 3,100gns was Tillbridge Goldie. This Ffronfedw Arawn daughter is out of The Kinaston Henry VIII daughter Tillbridge Velvet and sold with a bull calf at foot by Bridge Elmo. He was the choice of John Dale.

Bazadaise

On the same day Bazadaise trade peaked at 2,000gns for SC Worrell’s bull Marsh Isaac, a June 2013-born Yarlsber Frankie son out of Edmarc Breezy, an Edmarc Sovereign daughter. He sold to Gary Dunmore.

Following him at the same money was W and S Crawford’s in-calf heifer Macford Iris. This Macford Felix daughter is out of Macford Flavia, a Macford Valtra daughter and was knocked down to AG Coombe.

And a 1,900gns bid secured Willidon Iver, an Ant Valley Billy son from L Faulconbridge. This one is out of Kerridge Emily, a Kerridge Ambassador daughter and sold to Graham Chapman.
