TOP GENETICS
The top 23 deals at the dispersal of Lincs dairy farmer Malcolm Pearson”s herd last weekend averaged 987 on a day when buyers had plenty of milky cows to compete for at Uttoxeter Pedigree Centre.
Top genetics were on offer through daughters of Skybuck, Addison, Figaro, Jordan and Cash along with some interesting Dutch breeding.
It produced a lively trade that twice reached 1140 and saw several bids over 1000. Two in-milk heifers by Imperial Mandel Manat led the trade.
The first had calved last July and was due again to Crichel Principal in August. She was giving 31kg and was claimed by an undisclosed midlands buyer who also took the second heifer, due in August to Almere Pericles.
A fresh second-calver by Summershade Igniter made 1120 to Messrs Philips of Newport (Bagshaws).
