Commenting ahead of this year’s event, Harrison & Hetherington Managing Director, Scott Donaldson, said: “The return of Agri Expo last year following the pandemic really highlighted just how important and significant this event is to the industry.

The line-up of livestock is absolutely second to none and it is a privilege to welcome some of the best cattle and sheep the UK has to offer.

“Alongside the livestock classes, it is fantastic to see so many businesses coming together to showcase the latest trends and innovations within the industry which farmers can utilise on their own farms to enhance efficiency.”

Following its poignant inauguration last year, the David Thomlinson Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to someone recognised for their commitment, success, and accomplishment within livestock farming.

Always keen to encourage and support the next generation, there is plenty on offer for young people including Young Handlers classes and the David Allen Stockperson of the Year Competition a specialist competition which aims to test the skills, knowledge and capabilities of progressive young livestock farmers in an ever-progressing industry.

The H&H Land & Estates series of seminars will explore and debate a variety of current industry challenges, changes, and focusses.

With a panel of industry experts, the audience will have the opportunity to listen, learn and ask questions throughout.

The backbone of the event is the myriad of trade stands all representing different areas of the industry.

From breed societies to feed companies to machinery dealers, all demonstrating the latest research, developments, and technology which farmers can adopt to improve efficiency and production back at home.

The official charity of this year’s event is My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, a charity established in 2017 following Doddie Weir OBE’s announcement that he was suffering with Motor Neuron Disease (MND).

Fundraising will take place throughout the day however anyone wishing to make a direct donation to My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, can do so via: myname5doddie.enthuse.com/AgriExpo2022

Scott concludes: “Agri Expo covers all aspects of the British livestock industry and there really is something for everyone.
