Border and Lakeland Holsteins return to normality

The Border and Lakeland Holstein Club enjoyed some “normality” on Wednesday at their monthly show and sale at Carlisle, with the border open and Scottish buyers back and able to purchase, the trade was brisker than the previous two months.
The show was ably judged by David McCormick from “Cormick”
Reserve Champion was a heifer from the same home, sired by Summershade Igniter and fresh on the 25 October she was successfully bid to the top price of 2300gns by Messrs Sanderson, Burtholme Farm, Lanercost.
Equal top price was from the Hodgson’s popular Wormanby herd, sired by Budjon-JK Sky Enforcer and from an Excellent 90 dam this stylish heifer calved on the 24 October and was giving 33kg she was purchased by Messrs Bargh from Woodclose, Skelton.
