BPEX promotes research
THE BRITISH Pig Executive is urging pig farmers to demonstrate a greater interest in research projects to improve their relevance, practicality and direct benefit to producers.
But first BPEX is carrying out an interactive survey on the web to see what stops producers applying the results of research, even if it would save them money.
BPEX will use the results to find ways of overcoming those barriers so all producers can benefit.
Those who take part will be able to see the results which will be automatically updated as more people take part.
“This is a great chance for pig producers to get directly involved in something which will benefit them,” said Mick Sloyan, BPEX chief executive.
“I would urge all producers to spare just a few minutes to complete this important online survey.
“Improving the take-up of research was one of the major recommendations from the first stage of the R&D Review and that is now being tackled.”
The survey is available at www.surveymonkey.com.
