British Blues top 4,500gns twice at Welshpool

British Blue bulls topped 4,200gns twice at the inaugural sale of British Blue pedigree cattle, at Welshpool Mart on Saturday (22nd November).

First at this price was Dinmore Istanbull, from Paul Dawes, Hereford.  A son of Paulern Declan, he is out of Paulern Fancy. He found a new home DH Tilsley, Minsterley, Shropshire.

The second at the same money came from Wyn Jones’ stable, Oswestry Shropshire. Tanat Intrepid ET is a son of Drift Domino and out of Greystone Bertha, finding a home with E Evans, Talybont, Dyfed and carries a 400-day growth weight of +36 and a carcase profitability index of +14. Buyer was E Evans, Talybont, Dyfed.

Cierian Jones from Lampeter, sold Rhiwonnen Blues IOU for 3,000gns to DH Tilsley, Minsterley, Shropshire.  A son of Imperial De L’Ecluse and out of Bringlee Desiree, he is a grandson of the infamous Bringlee Sandy.

Tanat Iceman, from Wyn Jones, made 2,900gns when selling to DW Lewis and Son, Llandrindod Wells.  A son of Bringlee Ecstasy out of Whiterock Diamond, he is within the top 20% of the breed for scrotal size and intramuscular fat.

Averages: four bulls, ÂŁ3,754; one recipient with a calf at foot, ÂŁ2,520.
