Buzz at Darlington Mart bank holiday sale
The special Bank Holiday Show and Sale of 520 Ewes, Shearlings and Hoggs with lambs at foot at Darlington Farmers Auction Mart held along with the weekly store sale and cast cows saw a marvelous trade with a real buzz around the ringside from start to finish.
Many purchasers still have confidence in the sheep trade and are buying couples as they consider that these could look good value when we come to the autumn breeding sales.
There was a great show of quality sheep on offer and the ringside was packed with buyers looking to replenish flock numbers after a record year for numbers of cull ewes sold at Darlington Mart.
The Show of Hoggs with Lambs at foot was judged by Mr Howard James of Oulton, Staffordshire.
