Charolais cross leads YFC entry at Dingwall
A Charolais cross heifer from Sarah Wilson, Wester Cairnglass, was the champion in yesterday’s show and sale of overwintered cattle at Dingwall. The heifer, which weighed 470kg was bred by Hugh and Neil Mackay, Wester Tomloan, and sold to Bridgend Farm, Dingwall.
Reserve champion was Jamie Frasrer, Tore Mains, Tore, with a 615kg Charolais cross steer, also bred by the Mackays. This one sold at ÂŁ1070 to G and S McConachie, Wardhouse, Insh.
Taking the homebred title was Sarah Wilson with a Limousin cross heifer which weighed in at 395kg and sold for ÂŁ1020.
Selling for ÂŁ1080 was a heifer from Stuart Temple, Druid Temple which stood third in its class. Mr Temple also stood second in the steer class with a 500kg steer which sold for ÂŁ990.
