Charolais fail to fire up at Carlisle
Charolais vendors have no doubt left Carlisle today in somewhat downbeat mood, with just 17 of the catalogued entry of 61 bulls managing to find new homes and trade only peaking at 5200gns in the bulls on offer.
Taking this top call was Bleaklow Equity a Dingle Hoffmeister son out of Bleaklow Vavavoom, a Gretnahouse Noel daughter. Selling with a TSI of +38 and an SRI of +44 he now joins Exmoor Forest Farms, Minehead.
Following that at 4000gns was Hallbankgate Evans from T Bell and Son. This Maerdy Bermuda son is out of Hallbankgate Annabelle, an Edenhurst Pioneer daughter and sold to J and A Gray, Douglas, Lanarkshire.
And then making 3700gns was Kersnowe Endeavour, a Glenbridge Andrew son out of Kersknowe Betty, a Kersknowe Topmodel daughter. He sold with a TSI of +30 and an SRI of +35 to by J W Crozier, Lockerbie.
In the Cracker females the top call was an 8000gns bid for Edenhirst Desiree from Peter Vasey. Sired by Hoffmeister and out of Edenhurst Venus, an Oldstone Egbert daughter she was bougth with a TSI of +41 and an SRI of +48 by F and J Andrews, Holmfirth.
Next best was 4000gns given for Midas Ellie from Roger Coppinger. Sired by 55,000gns bull Thrunton Voldemort and out of Burnaston Racheal, a Killadeas Jack daughter, she sold to M G Anderson, Fortrose.
PIATROON
Topping the roll at the Piatroon dispersal sale for the Forster family was a 5000gns bid for Piatroon Bianca, a Doonally New daughter out of Thrunton Solo, a Maerdy Nero daughter. She has a TSI of +36 and an SRI of +41 and was bought by W Baxter, Nantwich, Cheshire.
Second best at 4300gns was Piatroon Annabel, a Derryharney Outstanding daughter out of Keepers Rebecca, a Drumlone Messenger daughter, With a TSI of +25 and an SRI of +30 she was bought by M G Anderson, Fortrose.
Just shy of that at 4200gns was Piatroon Duchess, a Thrunton Voldemort daughter out of Thrunton Stella, a Mowbraypark Orlando daughter. She sold to an undisclosed buyer with a TSI of +20 and an SRI of +30. Interestingly all top three lots are out of bought in females.
