Cracrop Limousins sell to 5500gns
Top price in the dispersal of David Stobarts’ Cracrop herd of Limousins was a 5500gns call for stock bull Mynach Axle. This Sable son is out of Mynach Rose, a Mynach Igor daughter and was bred by the Griffiths family. He was knocked down to J F Teague, Balerno, Edinburgh.
Second best was a 5000gns for another of the bulls Nebo Edgar. This is an Objat son bred by Mai Thomas and out of Nebo Briallen, a Sarkley Utmost daughter. Bought for 16,000gns in May 2010, he has a beef value of +41 and sold to L Graham, Crieff, Perthshire.
Then at 4000gns was the best of the females, Cracrop Debonair, a first calved heifer by Mynach Axle and out of Cracrop Upperclass, a Redrock Orlando daughter. Sold with a beef value of +27 she had a Cracrop Dennis-sired heifer calf at foot and having run again with the same sire. She was bought by D C and K L Hutchinson, Bowes, Barnard Castle.
Following on at 3600gns was Cracrop Dewberry, an Elrick Thunder daughter out of Brereton Newberry, a Brereton Jarvis daughter. This first calved heifer sold with a Mynach Axle heifer calf at foot and with a beef value of +25. She found a new home with Sezincote Farms, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire.
At the same money was Maiden heifer Cracrop Fondant. This Rocky daughter is out of Cracrop Bonus, an Elrick Thunder daughter and has a beef value of +32. Buying her was Drew Hyslop, Barhill, Girvan.
A 3500gns sale was the best achieved in the cows on offer with this paid for Cracrop Angel, a fourth calved Tomschoice Salem daughter. She is out of Brereton Serena, a Redrock Orlando daughter and sold with a beef value of +24. She went to J F Teague with a Mynach Axle bull calf at foot and hacing run with Nebo Edgar.
A pair then sold at 3400gns, with the first being Cracrop Bacardi. This third calver is by Tomschoice Salem and out of Cracrop Tonic, a Redrock Orlando daughter. Selling with a heifer by Cracrop Dennis at foot she has a beef value of +24 and sold to R Fitton, Kearsley, Bolton.
The other at this price was Cracrop Bethany, a Redrock Orlando daughter out of Cracrop Underworld. She’s a second calver and sold with a Mynach Axle sired heifer calf at foot. This one was knocked down to an undisclosed buyer.
