An insider’s guide to Dairy statistics

A new dairy statistics pocketbook has been released by DairyCo. Dairy statistics: an insider’s guide, not only provides independent facts and figures for the UK, but also highlights quantitative data for the EU and world.

The pocketbook provides information from farmgate to consumers, says DairyCo’s Huw Thomas. “It’s become an essential tool for the industry and is increasingly used by media and farming groups.”

Details on how UK farmers input have increased and how commodity markets have strengthened in the past year will be included.

Prices will also feature the average annual farmgate price rising to 20.66ppl in 2007, but the number of UK dairy farms continued to fall from 19,011 in 2006 to 17,915 in 2007.
