Cheese companies on a roll

THE CHEESE Company has picked up a raft of awards at this week’s Nantwich International Cheese Show in Cheshire.

Owned by dairy co-op Milk Link, the firm won 31 prizes including the Natwest Cup Supreme Champion Award for its Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Stilton produced at its Tuxford and Tebbutt creamery in Melton Mowbray, Leics.

Commercial director Terry Ward said: “In the past 12 months The Cheese Company has gone from strength to strength.

“We have reinforced our market-leading position in the production of British regional cheeses, as well as in the supply of convenience cheese and in the food service sector.”

Dairy Farmers of Britain also hit the jackpot as its mild Cadog Cheddar picked up a Gold award at the show.

The Cadog range of cheeses is produced at Dairy Farmers of Britain’s Llandyrnog factory in Denbighshire, North Wales.

Martin Taylor, General Manager at Llandyrnog said: “We are extremely proud that our latest addition to the Cadog range has received such prestigious recognition.”
